In the past, candidates have gotten in on name recognition alone. Often people don't even know why they recognize a name. Too often it's because of charges of corruption or other controversial situations that are printed in the newspaper. There are many sources for information about candidates, but attending a forum will help you to see the candidate in person and answer questions that are important to fellow residents who are actively participating in their (maybe your) community. Each is co-sponsored by several community organizations, including the the Women's Action Coalition, Prince George's Aging Advisory Committee, NAACP's Prince George's County Chapter, and the Prince George's County Civic Federation.
