Board of Education Election - welcome & please reply here about EDUCATION

Did you know that you can vote for every district Board of Education candidate in Prince George's County this Election Day, Nov. 7? If everyone in the 4 other districts vote for a candidate no one in your district wants, that candidate will win the election. You can also vote for 4 At-Large members.

Make sure you vote for the candidate of your choice and encourage others in your community to vote also.

I took notes at a candidate forum this past Fri. Here is a link to my notes.

I'm inviting candidates to post here and anyone who would like to make comments about this election. To join this community blog, you will need to follow the directions on this site to create an account. It is free and you don't have to do anything to create a personal blog. After you've created your account, you will be able to reply to this message board. I have never had any spam from LiveJournal that I'm aware of and there shouldn't be any ads.

The most insightful question at the Surrattsville High School candidate forum was the question for candidates to TELL US WHAT THEY PLAN TO DO. Thanks to the student government association members for the opportunity to hear from these candidates.

Voter confidence needed!

It's too late to request an absentee ballot if you haven't done so already. There are several resources to learn about the concerns about the machines on this web page about Voting Issues. I was also interviewed about my commitment to a fair election. We have to use the machines. Not voting is not the answer. If you know anyone who can volunteer on Election Day, encourage them to be a pollwatcher. Tell them to contact their political party or any of the organizations listed on the Voting Issues page.

Also, you are invited to a Movie and Discussion in Brandywine on Sun. afternoon. Here's the flier.
